About Scrambled Education

We focus on getting our students to critically think about the reformer as a resistance tool based on functional and fundamental movement patterns and biomechanics to create gym-based, strength-focused outcomes for clients.

All our training and education is founded on five key principles

Reconceptualising the Reformer

We always look at the reformer as a load/ resistance training tool where gym-based movement patterns can be loaded on the machine to get the most out of a muscle group.

We don’t shy away from the limitations of the machine and instead, teach you how you can best overcome them to keep all your movement patterns as effective as possible.

Challenge Norms, Challenge Loads

The focus of our training and development is uniquely around load prescription and programming principles. We challenge the norms of load on the reformer, getting you to think about the parameters/ mechanics of a movement and programming principles and then use these concepts to guide your load ranges/spring choices last.

Unlike other courses, we will never hand you a book to tell you what springs must be used for each exercise – there are so many factors that can affect resistance choices, and they can’t just come from a set list!

Long-serving carton of content

We take a focused and continuous lens on the content we develop so that we can constantly push forward, add and adapt as the industry changes and evolves.

However, because our education is always underpinned by scientific principles of biomechanics, strength & conditioning and resistance training, the “protein” of our course content will always be innovative and unique but will never be outdated.

Capturing a free-range spirit

We will always take an open and “cage-free” approach to learning. This means we promote growth mindsets, and autonomous and critical thinkers – we want you to be curious about what you’re learning and to apply it. This means our students unlock more teaching possibilities and better results for all ranges of clients.

And of course, free-range means that all we do will be delivered in a high energy, supporting and positive environment where you can roam and grow!

Getting you to be Intention based, outcome driven

Ultimately, we want you to be a trainer with intention; that means having intention for each exercise, each client and each overall class.

We teach you to be outcome driven for each client, meaning that we mentor you to intentionally choose the exercises, programming techniques, load selection and delivery of exercises to achieve progressive overload and as well as challenging but achievable results for clients.

Our Story

We’re Scrambled- a bright, fresh and comprehensive take on education, training and development for those who critically think about moving the body.

Scrambled Education and everything it represents, is the result of a combined 12 years of teaching experience between co-founders Brandi and Lauren; 3 years’ experience as a commercial studio founder, owners and operators. Mixed in with over 3 years of experience as mentors of a team of 20 trainers of the reformer industry.

During all of this, we noticed something- that other courses that new trainers were learning from, just weren’t hitting the mark & we were spending a lot of time upskilling, and challenging trainers to re-think their teaching,  problem solving skills and critical thinking.

And consequently, Scrambled Education was hatched from a passion for education and a need for comprehensive teaching beyond traditional pilates thinking and ‘pilates repertoire’. Instead, we’ve redefined and re-opened the opportunities on how the horizontal resistance from the reformer can be used to challenge the body, particularly when leveraged as a health and fitness professional.

With a constant eye on where the industry is moving, we deliver refreshed education backed by science, biomechanics/ resistance training principles… and taught with a smile!

Mother Hen, Brandi

Co-Founder & Head Tutor

Hi, my name is Brandi, and I am the co-founder of Scrambled Education. After completing uni and gaining my Bachelor of Health Science (Myotherapy), I completed my Reformer & Clinical training and entered the industry as an Instructor over 5 years ago.

I quickly developed a strong purpose through becoming a trainer, but I was seeking more growth and opportunities within an industry that was rapidly expanding and changing.

Through my experience and passion in the gym, I began to challenge the use of the reformer by applying new programming techniques to create those greater opportunities for myself as a trainer and for my clients. It became quickly clear to me that this area of expertise and training was also one that my clients were craving-  reformer training based on strength & conditioning and founded on human biomechanics!

I’m so excited to keep bringing new insights and inspiration to my trainers and excited to take new student trainers on the journey!

Mother Hen, Lauren

Co-Founder & Head Tutor

My name is Lauren, I am the co-founder of Scrambled Education. While completing my Masters of Physiotherapy at UniSA after my Bachelor of Human Movement and Exercise Science, I began teaching Reformer. And a few years back, I founded Studio Spring, an Australian commercial group fitness reformer company which now has 3 studios across Adelaide.

As part of managing and mentoring my trainers, I kept experiencing frustrations when looking to hire new instructors with the teaching skills I deemed valuable and important for the class styles taught within my studio. I noticed a gap around deep understanding of the reformer and resistance training principles, as well as a lack of knowledge about the body. I noticed that a lot of my new instructors were teaching from a memorised repertoire or exercises and springs with minimal problem-solving skills.

This, combined with my even deeper passion for creating memorable, meaningful and educational group fitness experiences for clients, has led me to creating Scrambled Education. I’m so excited to now be sharing my cultivated knowledge with the next generation of reformer trainers!

Sydney Bickerton

Junior Tutor

My name is Sydney, I am an Educator and Junior Tutor at Scrambled Education.

In my role at Scrambled, I bring a strong foundation in fitness, biomechanics, and trainer development. After earning my Pilates certification, I’ve spent the past two years as the Training and Development Manager at Studio Spring, where I mentor and develop a team of 20+ trainers across 3 studios.

My journey in the fitness industry began many years ago with a passion for bodybuilding in my late teens, which provided me with a deep understanding of human biomechanics and strength training. Over the years, my experience as a reformer and gym trainer has fuelled my love for developing new trainers and delivering key concepts in a clear and accessible way.

I joined the Scrambled Education team to contribute to a progressive approach to reformer training – integrating strength and conditioning principles into the traditional reformer framework while emphasising the importance of client connections through foundational psychology.

I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise to help shape the next generation of reformer trainers and elevate industry standards.
