12-week Reformer Teacher Training Course

Our 12-week course covers exactly that- 12 weeks of perfectly cooked, eggcellent weeks of nutritious content. This course is perfect for students who are completely new to the industry, as well as reformer instructors who are looking for a bit of a different approach to their teaching.

What we'll cover

At the start of each week (Mondays), your learning content for that week will be made available to you on your online Scrambled Learning Platform.

All content is in pre-recorded video content which you can start/ stop during the week so it can fit around your schedule.

Just try to stay on top of finishing each week’s content by the end of that week!

We would approximate that each week’s content adds up to about 4-5 hours of learning.

Throughout the 12-week program, students will engage in structured practical learning designed to support the transition from theory into confident teaching.

Adelaide-based students will have access to three in-person practical weekends across the course. These weekends provide the opportunity to practise teaching with your cohort, work hands-on with reformers, and apply course concepts in a supported, real-world setting.

Students completing the course from elsewhere in Australia or overseas are encouraged to set aside these same three weekends to engage in independent teaching practice in their own environment. While delivery may differ, the intent remains the same — consistent, intentional practice to deepen skill development. As with any practical discipline, the more you put into this component, the more confident and capable you will become.

The course includes a series of assessments designed to consolidate learning, support skill progression, and provide structured feedback throughout the program.

Assessments include:

  • Weekly online quizzes, offering immediate feedback on knowledge comprehension and application
  • Four (4) practical teaching assessments, completed progressively across the course
  • A 20-hour Observation Logbook, completed alongside your practical learning

Practical Teaching Assessments:

You will complete four (4) practical teaching assessments across the 12-week program. These assessments are due at structured checkpoints in Week 6, Week 10, and Week 12, with Final Assessment Case Studies due by the end of Week 13.

Week 13 does not include the release of new course content. Final case studies are issued in Week 9, allowing ample preparation time prior to submission. All assessments are due by Sunday of the relevant week, with exact dates varying depending on your commencement intake. Due dates apply equally to both in-person and online students.

Assessment submission format:

  • In-person students will complete practical assessments on site on the scheduled Sunday, or may choose to submit via video if they have access to their own reformer
  • Online students must have access to a reformer and will submit all practical assessments via video submission

Following each practical assessment, students will receive a detailed written feedback rubric, outlining strengths, refinements, and clear guidance for ongoing improvement.

20-Hour Observation Logbook

As part of the course assessment requirements, students are required to complete a 20-hour Observation Logbook across the duration of the program. This logbook is designed to support teaching development through the attendance of classes of industry trainers, with the intention to learn while practicing. Taking a reflective focus on class structure, cueing, exercise selection, client communication, and overall delivery. Observation hours may be logged by attendance to classes completed at any studio in relevant realms such as reformer and mat pilates. The Observation Logbook must be fully completed and submitted by the end of Week 24, and applies to both in-person and online students. The logbook must be submitted in order to receive your completion certificate.

Important Information

  • In-person practice teaching weekends are optional and provided as an additional learning resource for Adelaide-based students
  • All assessments, including practical assessments, quizzes, and the Observation Logbook, are required in order to successfully complete the course
  • If you anticipate difficulty meeting an assessment deadline, you must contact the Head Tutor Team prior to the due date to request an adjusted submission timeline
